Climate Change

$ 7500 Needed Donation

Climate change is set to unleash lasting damage across the world—even if we succeed in limiting global warming. It is also dramatically worsening already dire situations around the globe. It’s time for all of us to become better stewards of the planet.  Climate change is not a problem we can leave for future generations to solve. The catastrophic consequences of climate change are already affecting vulnerable communities around the world. More frequent and intense natural disasters and extreme weather are destroying livelihoods, intensifying violent conflicts and uprooting people from their homes.

Global warming makes extreme weather—such as heat waves, droughts, floods and hurricanes—more frequent and more intense. Rainy or dry seasons may become less predictable, farmland may be transformed into desert, and rising sea levels may inundate communities.  Climate change creates crises that disrupt food security, displace families, destroy livelihoods, spread disease and take lives. Without immediate and concerted action, climate change could displace over 200 million people worldwide by 2050.

Although a proven treatment for malnutrition is ready, an effective response and a reliable stream of funding are needed to treat the over 45 million children experiencing acute malnutrition around the world. We are facing record levels of hunger and malnutrition, and it is unacceptable to continue to leave proven solutions on the shelf.
